MARC MY SKETCH, GIMMIE THAT!

It has been one of my biggest long-time dream to have my slew of waif girls (my illustrations, that is) gracing an editorial spread of a publication. Not long before my actual dream dust into nothingness, I got contacted by the Style: Magazine team on a collaboration for their September issue!

So I hopped onto the bandwagon, got into a massive brainstorming process over a short period of time; which also include a visit from the fashion editor herself with her Cocoon Chanel bag amidst all the roving-eyed senior citizens and greasy residence of mine and a sit on the editor's desk doing final tweakings, overlooking his big collection of Vogue's past issues and his Hermes teacup. Evidently by now, it is only right that I have subconsciously studied the entire Fall/Winter '10 accessories by heart in between research and sketching, hah!

I would like to extend a big thank you to the Style: team for this dream come true. Grab your September issue now! PS: Look out for Alber and Karl's cameo appearance inside!

Ridhwan.

  5. The moment I saw those illustrations at the bookstore, I knew the boys behind One Sixty Notepad must be behind it since it's really distinctive! Love your illustration of Natasha Poly, and it shall forever remain my favorite.

    Congratulations on this huge gig!
