PITTI UOMO.

You’ve probably seen it on Scott Shuman’s but what in the world is Pitti Uomo? Or if you’re a follower of ‘fashion people’, I bet your tweet feed is splashed with the word ‘Pitti’ allover. I had ‘Pitti Uomo’ in my head since forever but never did research. Ask ten guys—no make it hundred —on the streets of Singapore, none would have the answer for you.

Pitti Uomo is similar to most fashion trade show but focuses on sartorial fashion. The menswear show is held every season in Florence of western central Italy. Hence the title, ‘On the Streets…. Pitti Uomo, Florence’ on Then Sartorialist’s blog.

At the trade show, trends for next season are discussed and exhibit; for the buyers, with about 80 parties each edition. Yesterday was its 76th edition, a week before the scheduled Milan menswear fashion week.

The next time you see that familiar gravel grounds and never-ending foyer on street style pictures, you won’t be wondering why these people are dressed to the nines.
